Sort the shapes, find a pattern, paint tile by tile. A slow, absorbing evening with two coasters at the end of it.
Every one of these uses the same 16 tile shapes. Try them, and invent your own, in the Coaster Designer before your kit arrives.

Something to open, something to make, and something to keep.

Had a lot of past experiences buying craft its and it not turning out like the pictures. This was different, super easy to use and fantastic result.
Brilliant kit! Bought it as a birthday present for my mum and she loved it. The instructions were really clear and the final coasters looked amazing.
Wonderful kit. Ordered again after I finished the first set. Now have a matching set of coasters for my dining room.
My brother isn't very creative but he likes puzzles so I got him this as a Christmas present. He loved it! He spent hours experimenting with the shapes and coming up with new patterns, he had a lot of fun.
I was making patterns for hours. Instructions were really helpful and had everything you need to make some quality looking coasters.
The paints can be mixed together which really opened up a whole new set of options. Can’t wait to try this kit again and make something completely different.
These patterns belong to Islamic geometric art, a tradition that runs through more than a thousand years of buildings from Baghdad and Cairo to Fez, Granada and Seville. Its craftspeople built whole walls from a small set of shapes, cut and fitted by hand.
In Spain, the best-known examples are in the Alhambra, the palace the Nasrid dynasty built in Granada in the 13th and 14th centuries. In Morocco, zellige makers still cut tiles by hand today.
TileKit doesn’t copy those walls, and it isn’t zellige. We study the original patterns, redraw them as tiles anyone can paint and fit, and make every tile by hand in our Barcelona studio. In our workshops we teach where each pattern comes from.
If the patterns get under your skin, go and see the real thing.
None. The tiles are cut to fit together in specific ways, so the geometry does the work. If you can do a jigsaw, you can do this.
Most people finish both coasters in 2–3 hours. Plenty spread it over an evening or two. Arranging the pattern usually takes longer than expected, in a good way.
Yes. The heat-resistant gloss varnish makes them fine for hot drinks. Wipe clean with a damp cloth; not dishwasher safe.
SIO-2 air-dry clay, made just outside Barcelona. Each tile is made in our Barcelona studio.
