98 handmade tiles in 16 core shapes, 6 paints, brushes, glue, varnish and two coaster bases.

Tiles for the Moroccan zellige pattern, with paints, glue and varnish. The tray itself is sold separately by IKEA.

An alternative set of tiles for the tray’s octagons, so the same tray can take a completely different pattern.

Magnets for your tiles, so they hold in place without glue and can be rearranged as often as you like.
Every shape in the bundle, and how many of each you get.

These patterns belong to Islamic geometric art, a tradition that runs through more than a thousand years of buildings from Baghdad and Cairo to Fez, Granada and Seville. Its craftspeople built whole walls from a small set of shapes, cut and fitted by hand.
In Spain, the best-known examples are in the Alhambra, the palace the Nasrid dynasty built in Granada in the 13th and 14th centuries. In Morocco, zellige makers still cut tiles by hand today.
TileKit doesn’t copy those walls, and it isn’t zellige. We study the original patterns, redraw them as tiles anyone can paint and fit, and make every tile by hand in our Barcelona studio. In our workshops we teach where each pattern comes from.
The tray’s star pattern is drawn from Moroccan zellige. Real zellige is cut from glazed, kiln-fired clay by trained craftspeople; ours is a painted, beginner-friendly homage to it.
If the patterns get under your skin, go and see the real thing.
